On their route to New Orleans, they made a stop at Rupert and O’Neal’s’ home which lived nearby Biloxi to have a late dinner. It was recorded that the last photographs of Jayne Mansfield were shot at the house. After the dinner, they continue the journey in the early morning on June 29, 1967. Here they passed through a waterwall called Rigolets, then they passed over a bridge known as the Old Spanish Trail area and came on to a narrow country road near to Louisiana swap, the U.S. Highway 90 around 2:25am. Guess what? Here is where the car crashed and the tragic car accident happened. The car crash into the rear of a tractor trailer that slow down due to a truck that was spraying mosquito fogger, thus it makes the accident very foggy. The tractor size are much higher than the Buick Electra that Jayne’s ride on, this makes the car struck at the rear of the tractor and under rode it. Three adults, Jayne Mansfield, Sam Brody, and Ronnie Harrison that sit at the front seats killed instantly. The 3 children riding in the rear of the car luckily survived with minor injuries. It is recorded that Jayne’s poor little dog killed in the tragic accident as well.

The car powered by 425 Nailhead V8 engine with 3-speed ST-400 automatic transmission that produces 360 bhps. What makes the 66 Buick Electra 225 different from other generation is the new front grille, full-width taillight, trunk led that included an “Electra 225” at the car boot. The car has also featured with a horizontal sweep speedometer, fuel gauge and warning lights.

The car bought over by a weirdo Buddy Hough after the accident and has been display for long time in U.S. History Museum, in St. Augustine, Florida. In 1996, the owner passed away and his wife auctioned off the car. The car is now own by another weirdo John Ayers in U.S.

The funeral was held on July 3, in Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania, place where she was born. Her gravestone was located in Fairview Cemetery and reads “We Live to Love You More Each Day”, a very memorial sentence.

Elaine was sent to a Home for Unwed Mothers by Gus Stevens and the baby was up for an adoption. Thank god during 2000, they were united after 30 years! Elaine Stevens is now own a production company in California and the baby (Angie Lathrop) is a successful chemist.
