Hi, I have this dilemma

I have a stranded Mini Clubman
but it is well kept in a garage
About 5% of rust on the body, and 2-3 dead rats, haha
Then I thought about rebuild it
The last day the engine is started was about 3-4 years ago

I've tried to start the engine, and it won't start
I think i have to send it to a w.shop

So, my problem are;
-is it expensive to restore the mini (to make it move)?
p/s:the brake drum stuck, the engine won't start.

-is mini clubman expensive to be maintained?
-is any kind of 'pomen' can fix mini or i need a mini specialist?

Thank you

smallK,

Where are you from? Try check out the Mechanic Zone. My Mini used to in dormant for few years also, then I use the most budget way to rebuild it. See this at: http://www.malaysiaminilover.com/forum/my-mini-austin-project-t78.html

Try post some of your car pic so that other Mini enthusiast can help you to give better opinion.

I'll upload the pictures tomorrow

I'm afraid to 'go into deep' with the car.
I'm afraid it is not worth it.

smallK... don't afraid of going into deep! I see skyline's rebuild post provide with cost that he buy parts, you can estimate it properly, add a little bit allowance to it, then only decide whether or not to start the project. Just remember do not go to those mechanic that repair your Mini under a tree or not pro, that will really burn your pocket. Fix here there leak, fix there here leak then your pocket big leak. Hope to see more Mini on the road lah... else Mini die out already...

pictures pictures pictures wait your pictures

The engine
If you can notice, the left side of the body in this pic is lower than the right side.
I guess it is the suspension problem

There were two dead rat in the engine. One of the plug wire have been cut into two by rats

The interior

there are no rust in the body, perfect condition, but quite empty in it

tq

i'm so afraid if this car is gonna make my pocket empty.

Recently just to make engine start, i've spent around RM300
-contact point
-plug
-clutch pump made in italy
-plug cable

Then the mechanic told me that the clutch plate may be stuck

haish, should i or shouldn't i?
:?: :?:
