Crazymini,

This looks to me like a later generation MK4 SPi. The item you are referring to is not an engine mounting but is an engine steady. Minis have only two engine mountings, one on the gearbox and the other on the bell housing.

This particular steady is made for Spi engines. For normal Carb engines the on-body bracket and the engine bracket is slightly different. You can buy this locally or get it imported from UK. Both are usable.

Personally, I would not use this item as it blocks access to the fuel pump and the lower radiator pipe. I rather use the bottom engine steadies on both sides. One locks to the front of the subframe and one to the rear on opposite sides.

Using top steadies alone still allows engine movement on your mountings and improper installation of the steady may cause the engine mounts to shear off. If you want less movement from your engine (under acceleration or deceleration), just add a rear lower engine steady. This is on the bottom opposite side of your original steady. That will more than suffice.

The case is however different when you have blown 1380 engine or bigger lurking under your hood. You may need all 4 steadies on your engine.

Cheers

Thanks brother, I just want to find out that steadies as I never see before in UK. As you know I have just fixed my steadies, want to know more about how to make an engine steady when in high speed. By the way, I am satisfied with what I have now, the feeling is just great.
