Wan,

Still plenty to do... The body work chap is now flattening down the filler, I have to mount and align the doors and flatten that down as well, then completely wash the entire car down, dry, wipe off then primer the car. Another round of flattening before the 1st coat of base is laid down.

Then will be another 2 coats of base colour and 3 coats of clear. This will effectively take me up to the 2nd week of October. After that only, I will install the modified wiring loom, fuses and relays. I will have to do this and piping at the same time.

The GT will have to be completed this year(by christmas, I hope) as I have some confirmed work engagements coming in next year.

As with all restos, things never goes as planned. As I was flattening down the replacement doors, the bottom portion of the door was rusted and the window sill rubbers have harded. Replacement window rubbers costs about RM200 per door. Managed to source doors 2nd hand doors for RM400 per pair. Might as well get the doors. I will also have to get a new body pump for the brakes. The original body pump has jammed.

Looks like I will have to wait for my budget next month.

Finally managed to get some time off to lay down primer on the GT... before it starts rusting again. The first round spray was interrupted by rain so had to wait another few days to flatten down and respray it. This is the end result. I am praying for the rain to let up so that it dries properly and I can start flattening.

This is what happens when rain gets to primer before it dries

Finally all primered. Thats not my hood by the way, I borrowed it

I just need two days of good heat to let it dry properly. I am subject to weather changes as I am doing it outdoors without a spray booth.
