Erre,

For your engine set up, you would be fine running the Champion plugs N11YC. These are within the standard heat range. A similar one would be NGK BP6E or BP6ES. You can even use the standard Proton spark plugs.

Your engine state of tune(normal) does not warrant cooler plugs. Using better quality plugs would be your next best option. Iridium type plugs are costly but good.

As for reading the spark plugs, I know how to read it but don't know how to put it in words. Sorry. I may have an article somewhere describing plug conditions but I will have to find it.

Cheers

Hi erre,

A higher compression engine should have a colder spark plug. The engineers explain that it has to do with flame temperature and overheating the plug. I know from experience that my race engine will melt a street plug! Choose from the following NGK plugs:
Cold Street=BP7ES
Colder Street=BP8ES
Cold Race=BP9EV
Coldest Race=BP10EV

Hope it helps.

speaking of spark plug.. do you guys have the same problem as i am..well i'm driving a standard 850 mini..used it everyday.. driving s.alam-kl.. dont know why the spark plug seems to get kotor easily r.. service the caburator few time already and still need to change the spark plug almost once every month.. I dont know how to explain it in english...so.. plug dier tuh just kotor tapi kering la..tak macam overflow punye plug ade minyak semua..kering and hitam..ade internal nye problem ke atau memang kena ada spesifikasi plug2 tertentu utk mini..tlong2 beri sedikit panduan.. terima kasih.. :? :?
